There are times when we must break up with the people who are closest to us. These fake people bring toxicity into our lives in numerous ways. Some people might cheer you on at the surface, but then gossip behind your back as your accomplishments rise and their own work fails.

1. You Have Different Interests
When the things that used to unite you are now separating factors, it might be time to move on from the relationship.

If you try to make plans with people are get constantly ignored or put off, that might be a fake friend. Many people encounter this issue with co-workers and teammates.
3. You’re Alone
A best friend is always by your side. Fake friends are there when your presence is convenient to them. You shouldn’t need to walk on eggshells around people to have them accept you!
4. You Feel Their Toxicity
Some people are constantly negative. If that energy wears you down, it might be tempting to join your fake friend in misery. The right people want you to succeed instead of fail.
5. You Hear from Them When They Need Something
You might only hear from some people once or twice per year. The chances are good that they’ll be asking for something when they do reach out. These are the people that “borrow” things without returning them.
